Most of the same ingredients were used. I truly love how Eden Nature Park sends down their greens to the local markets. I just have to make a mental note to go to the grocers a lot earlier to get the freshest ingredients. However, going later in the day would make for a more pleasant and quick trip as there would be significantly less people. So I suppose it just really depends on what your priorities are: fresh ingredients or a much more hassle-less trip.
So what's different in today's mixture? I did not make use of cabbages today, instead I just added more romaine lettuce and cucumbers. Oh, I also cubed the cheese rather than grating them; I also added hard boiled eggs to today's salad too.
Mum was definitely happy. I wasn't able to take a picture of the ingredients since mum demanded a rush job. It was really fun! B and Mattie were on hand to help me. As I was cleaning and chopping the veggies, B was boiling the eggs and making the tuna mix, and Mattie was making the croutons. Again, I miss having a pet bunny as I look at the number of leaves that weren't used in the mix.
I don't know why I didn't make use of any sort of oil to mix my salad. I think I just prefer it that way. Also, I made sure to store the chopped up ingredients in different bowls/containers. The leafy greens and tomatoes were together. The cheese, tuna, cucumbers, and eggs had their own bowls. I don't want to make B and Mattie eat the veggies or ingredients that they don't want to. Sure, I put a little bit into their servings but not so much. To me, enjoying the meal is also as important as what goes into the meal.
I want them to eat the stuff I make with smiles on their faces and not grimaces. I think that is something that most people forget as they slam the 'it's good for you' argument in your face.
Again I've yet to find little cookie cutters with different shapes (for the croutons). Oh well, that doesn't mean I'll stop trying to find it! So anyway, I did manage to take a pic of the finished product! Here it is:

I wonder if I'll be able to continue with my E.K.S. next Sunday. Oh well like we Filipinos always say: Pag gusto may paraan! Pag ayaw laging may dahilan. Here's to hoping that I'm the former and not the latter. ♥
